At the end of last year, we welcomed a newcomer to our Molecular Biology laboratory.
Hamilton (the brand name of this robot), which our team has already christened Lewis, is not only F1 champion in name, but also in speed. It enables Julio and his team to save an enormous amount of time on the pipetting stage, which is no longer manual but automatic: “Lewis is 8 times faster than us at pipetting. He can make 6 wafers of 96 units at incredible speed”, says Julio.
The robot not only saves time, but also enables us to record standard parameters for certain varieties with specific needs. The automatic pipetting and dispensing system, parameterized by a touch-screen, with no need for a computer, also saves time for the teams. It also enables mixes to be prepared for PCR in record time, so as to meet customer requirements ever more rapidly.
